Industry Associations States - Tamil Nadu CII launches interactive expo for children
Second edition: School children at Kidex2008, a three-day exhibition organised by CII, which opened in Chennai on Friday. Our Bureau Chennai, Nov. 21 As part of its initiative to build a sustainable market advantage to the companies that cater to kids, the Confederation of Indian Industry today launched its second edition of the KideX – a 3-day educative and interactive expo for children. “The event will provide a platform for kids to enhance their knowledge and innovation potential,” said Mr Pradipta K. Mohapatra, Chairman of the expo. He said the market for kids has experienced tremendous growth – more than double in the last 10 years, distributed over sectors such as apparel, fast moving consumer goods, gizmos, games, toys and nutrition and food. More than 50 companies showcase a range of products including books, crafts, stationery, educational aids and toys at the KideX. Concurrently, CII along with NIIT is organising a digital art competition for children. The competition on creative art using computers is categorised into two sections in the age groups of 4-7 and 8-12. The grand finale will be held on the last day (November 23) at the Chennai Convention Centre. Grand Master Viswanathan Anand will be the chief guest of the event. Besides, CII’s Young Indians along with the Group of Nature Preservation and Education and other institutions has announced several competitions such as quiz competition on nature, drawing, online cartoon strip making, robotics learning, craft making and animation for kids, and a workshop for parents on Saturday.
