SCOPE awards for PSE chiefs

New Delhi, Nov. 21

The Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Mr Sontosh Mohan Dev, presented the SCOPE Meritorious Awards for the year 2006-07 to chiefs of Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs). He also inaugurated the Fourth Directors Conclave on Corporate Governance here on Friday. The awards were received by Mr R.S. Sharma, CMD, ONGC, for `Good Corporate Governance'; Mr R.S. Sharma, CMD, NTPC Ltd for `Corporate Social Responsibility and Responsiveness'; Mr S.K. Garg, CMD, NHPC Ltd for `Best Practices in Human Resource Management'; Mr Sarthak Behuria, Chairman, Indian Oil Corporation for `Environmental Excellence and Sustainable Development'; Mr V.V.R. Sastry, CMD, Bharat Electronics Ltd for `R&D, Technology Development and Innovation' and Mr J.M. Garg, CMD, Corporation Bank for `Best Managed Bank, Financial Institution or Insurance Company'. - Our Bureau
