Spot rubber prices improve

Aravindan

Kottayam, Nov. 22 Spot rubber finished better in the weekend session. According to observers the market improved on short covering at lower levels as it might be technically in an oversold position after the sharp declines during week. Sheet rubber RSS 4 moved up to Rs 65 from Rs 63 a kg on Friday. The volumes were low. The downfall visible in rubber prices during the past few weeks is the reflection of the global economic recession said Mr Sajen Peter Chairman Rubber Board. The problems of the automobile industry will naturally affect the rubber sector also he added.

Spot rates were: RSS-4: 65 (63); RSS-5: 62 (60); ungraded: 60 (59); ISNR 20: 62.50 (60) and latex 60 per cent: 53 (53)
