Rosa power unit by Sept 2009

Reliance Power Ltd has said it hopes to commission the first phase of the 600 MW Rosa Power project by September 2009, six months ahead of schedule. Work on the second phase is also expected to be completed by 2010, a company release said. Coal supply agreement has been signed for the first stage of the project and coal will be supplied by Central Coalfields Ltd, subsidiary of Coal India, from the Ashoka mine of North Karanpura coalfields of Jharkhand, the statement said. Reliance Power has tied up with the IDBI Bank-led consortium of domestic banks to secure the debt portion for the second phase of the 600-MW project located in Shahjahanpur district in Uttar Pradesh. - Our Bureau
