AP Govt urged to rescue Vizag Steel Plant

Visakhapatnam, Nov. 23 The Andhra Pradesh Government should rescue the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant by buying up the steel products piled up with the plant for irrigation projects and other projects taken up by the Government of late, according to Mr V. Srinivasa Rao, General Secretary of the Steel Plant Employees’ Association, affiliated to the Jansakthi Mazdoor Sabha. In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, the union leader said that more than seven lakh tonnes of steel products had piled up and the plant was unable to liquidate the stocks.
