Dr Ravindra Varma

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Nov. 24. Emphasising the need for goal setting, Dr Ravindra Varma, a HR expert, has said it must be measurable and relate to what you really want to achieve.

Personal and professional goals that are not written on paper are wishes. It’s tough to make them come true, Dr Varma, Deputy General Manager, Corporate HR at Matrix Laboratories Ltd, said.

If you really want to achieve your goals you should also get rid of negative thoughts. Think success and success will come, he told students of the Department of MBA, Institute of Aeronautical Engineering College, Dundigal.

Self belief

Delivering the BL Club lecture on the topic “You can, if you think you can,” here, Dr Varma said a periodic review of the goals is also a must.

As you pursue your professional goals and personal goals, be sure and take time to assess your progress. Are you moving forward? Is something holding you back? Is there additional education that you need in order to achieve your goals?

You do have the potential to achieve your desires. So start believing in yourself and keep working on your goals no matter what challenges you may face. And very soon, you’ll turn them into reality.

You can if you like to win, but you think you can’t, It is almost certain you won’t. If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost, You got to think high to rise, Dr Varma said.

Fear of Failure

Fear is one of the greatest obstacles of life. Fear keeps you from your dream career. It stops people from working out what they want to do. Once you have conquered the fear, achieving any career goal is easy. You have to work on a strategy to beat the fear and that requires planning, he said.

Always keep in mind that success is a choice that we make.

To get caught up in the obstacles in life instead of seeking solutions is a decision each of us must make, he said.
