BHEL bags Rs 240-cr order

New Delhi, Nov. 24

State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd on Monday announced it has bagged a Rs 240-crore order for manufacturing and supplying transformers to Tata Power Ltd’s upcoming power project in Gujarat. The order has been placed by Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd (CGPL), a special-purpose vehicle of Tata Power, for the implementation of the 4,000 MW Mundra Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP), BHEL said in a statement. The order also includes manufacture and supply of busducts for the power project. Busducts are designed for connecting the generator to the main transformer. The generator transformers for the first unit have to be delivered by February 2010, supplies for the fifth unit will be completed by June 2011, it said.
