DST Secy for Nayudamma award
Hyderabad, Nov. 24
Dr T. Ramasami, well-known leather technologist,
has been selected for the Dr Y. Nayudamma
Memorial Award for 2008. Dr Ramasami, who is the
present Secretary, Union Department of Science and
Technology (DST), will receive the award from the Union
Minister of State for Human Resource Development
(HRD), Ms D. Purandeswari, at a function in Tenali on
December 6. Announcing the award today, Mr P. Vishnu
Murthy, founder and managing trustee of Dr Y.
Nayudamma Memorial Trust, said that Dr Ramasami has
been chosen for the award for his outstanding
contribution to science and technology. Earlier recipients
of the Dr Nayudamma Award include Dr A. Sivathanu
Pillai, Dr Nori Dattatreyudu, Dr Sam Pitroda, Dr R.
Chidambaram and Dr M.S. Swaminathan. - Our Bureau
