New Mangalore port gets security speed boat

Mangalore, Nov. 25

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Tuesday commissioned a new security speed boat for patrolling the New Mangalore port waters, according to a press release by the Secretary of the New Mangalore Port Trust, Mr C. Harichandran, here as part of compliance of the ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security) code.

With a capacity of carrying 24 personnel (including crew members) on board, the boat is capable of chasing the crafts with a minimum speed of 20 knots and equipped with the latest communication and safety equipment, it added.
