The potential linked credit plan for Theni district, prepared by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) for 2009-10, envisages a credit outlay of Rs 904.91 crore, up by 11.6 per cent from Rs 810.51 crore in 2008-09. The projections provide an outlay of Rs 603.58 crore for agriculture and Rs 301.33 crore for other priority sectors. The District Collector, Mr P. Muthuveeran, launched the plan at the bankers’ meet held at Theni recently. The Ch innamanur block has been selected for implementation of village development programmes aimed at socio-economic development and creation of infrastructure facilities.
