Gold won’t lose sheen: GRT

Hyderabad, Nov. 26

GR Thanga Maligai (GRT Jewellers), a Chennai-based jeweller, has said that gold would never loose sheen, despite the global economic slowdown. “People always look at it as a safe investment, Mr Ananthapadmanabhan, Managing Director of GRT, said. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday after inaugurating company’s fifth outlet (second in Andhra Pradesh), he felt that investments (into gold buying) would, in fact, grow in the times of slowdown as people pre fer to be safe. On company’s expansion plans, he said it would focus on the Southern market for now before expanding to other markets. “We will open three more outlets, including one in Bangalore, in the next one year. This will take the total to five,” he said. —
