Our Bureau
Hyderabad, Nov 27 Careers abound in the hospitality and related services space and according to independent research estimates, demand for talented and trained youth far outpaces supply, according to representatives from two of the management schools based in Switzerland.
Addressing a press conference here, representatives from Les Roches International School of Hotel Management and Glion Institute of Higher Education, based in Switzerland said that a specialised training helps student graduates access global careers in not only hospitality but several other related sectors.
The Regional Admission Director, Glion and Les Roches, Mr Pimo Mazurczak, said that the traditional Indian view of hospitality sector has undergone a change and graduates from hospitality schools are in demand in travel, hotel, cruise ship sectors and in large corporate houses.
Indian students who graduate from schools in Switzerland secure global placements.
Significantly, India will offer very attractive careers to such trained professionals, he said.
According to the estimates, India now has about 94,000 hotel rooms and the demand is projected to be about 2,40,000.
This will open up careers in not just hotels but in adventure, medical, wellness, pilgrimage, eco tourism and wildlife.
