Non-conventional Energy States - Andhra Pradesh Renewable energy sector seeks Govt support Our Bureau Hyderabad, Nov. 28 Industry representatives from the renewable energy sector have expressed the need for Government support on the incentives such as buyback tariff rates to be offered both at the Central and State Government levels. At an interactive ‘Industry Interface Meet’ organised by APInvest in collaboration with Non-conventional Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NEDCAP), they also requested for speedy disposal of their request for setting up the units. “A few industry representatives requested the Government to consider the visibility of clear policy initiatives on solar power sector beyond the twenty years time frame,” a release from the Chief Minister’s Office issued on Friday said. Some of the industry representatives expressed commitment to announce their renewable power generation plans to supply to the grid if the minimum expected buyback price is announced in line with their expectation. Mr Deepak Gupta, Secretary, Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Department, in his address expressed urgent need for the development of renewable industry as an alternative to the conventional power generation in India. FUNDS FOR RAJIV PALLE BATAAnother release said the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has asked the Finance Department to release the balance funds (approximately Rs 34 crore) for the 3,736 Rajiv Palle Bata works assured during his tours to various districts. At a review meeting here, he said no works should be hindered or stopped for want of funds under Rajiv Palle Bata. The release said that out of Rs 120 crore provided in the Budget, only Rs 60.00 crore have been sanctioned by the Finance Department during the first and second quarters and the same was released to the district collectors. Administrative sanctions have been accorded for Rs 121.39 crore so far. An amount of Rs 94.33 crore is to be released for the works sanctioned during current year and previous year.
