Arvind to demerge apparel, retail biz

Bangalore, Nov 28 Textile and apparel company Arvind Ltd has announced plans for demerger of its branded apparel business and the retail business under the MegaMart banner into wholly owned subsidiaries.

A press statement from the company said the board of directors of the company at a meeting on Friday said that the demerger will be effective from April 01, 2009. The demerger will be carried out from April 1, 2009 through a court approved scheme.
