Nabard sanctions Rs 298 cr

For projects approved under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund.

Hyderabad, Dec. 1 The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 298.46 crore loan assistance to Andhra Pradesh Government to undertake 127 roads, two bridges, 99 Zilla Parishad High Schools and 11 rural water supply projects in the State.

“These projects were sanctioned under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) by the project sanctioning committee in a meeting held on November 29,” Mr S.R. Aluru, Chief General Manager, Nabard, stated in a press release issued on Monday.

With the sanction of these projects, the total sanctions during the current year were Rs 1,109.19 crore, the release added.

The State Government is implementing rural water supply projects covering nine districts, 349 habitations with about five lakh rural population in the area.

Similarly, the 127 rural road project will cover 580.74 km benefiting 579 villages with population of 5.30 lakh.

The 99 Zilla Parishad High Shools would be implemented by Panchayat Raj Engineering Department under Remote & Interior Area Development Programme in 17 districts.

It will provide infrastructure facilities such as additional classrooms, drinking water and toilet facilities, the release said.
