New Delhi, Dec 1 NTPC Ltd, the country’s largest power utility, on Monday announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with its state-owned counterparts NHPC Ltd, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and Damodar Valley Corporation. The MoU was inked to form a joint venture company to set up an ‘online high power test laboratory (OHPTL) for short circuit testing facility involving equal equity participation by the four companies, an NTPC release said. Currently, m anufacturers and utility companies are sending their equipment to overseas testing labs which is not only time consuming but expensive as well.
