New Delhi, Dec 2

The Railway Minister, Mr Lalu Prasad, today announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to each of the 58 victims who lost their lives in the terror attack on CST station in Mumbai on November 26.

He also announced Rs 10 lakh award for two officials -- CST announcer Mr VD Jhande, whose timely warning saved the lives of several passengers; and Mr J Yadav, Head Constable, Railway Protection Force, who guided the passengers to secure places. "I shall recommend their names for gallantry awards," said Mr Prasad.

Additionally, the Ministry will also award Rs 5 lakh to two RPF personnel who retaliated and returned fire to the militants. - Our Bureau
