‘More innovative projects get commercial breakthrough’

New Delhi, Dec. 3 About 25 innovative projects entered into commercial deal in the third year of the Lockheed Martin Innovation Growth Programme in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology, FICCI and University of Austin, Texas. Last year, the number of innovative projects that could get commercialised through such a platform stood at 16.

Some of the projects that got commercial breakthrough includes a project on commercial plant for production and distribution of molybdenum micronutrient fertiliser by Dr Chandrika Varadachari. The project got partnered by Sowbhagya Amino Inputs Private Ltd. Similarly, another innovation on design and engineering of complex machinery by Adroitec Information System had Escorts Farm and Construction Equipment Company collaborating for the technology. The programme also had prominent companies such as Surya Kiran whose technology on low-cost system for reducing heat and dust in homes and buildings had Nature Hill Resorts and Pande and Associates based in Karjat as partners.

The programme sieves applications based on the market interest and perception of the technology. The project members then get trained by the IC2 institute based at the University of Texas, Austin.

Some of the projects that got selected were also from individuals from education institutions such as IIT Kharagpur, University of Delhi amongst others.
