Mumbai, Dec. 6 The reduction in repo and reverse repo rate are welcome measures to meet the objectives of maintaining adequate liquidity and financial stability as well as conditions conductive to economic growth, according to Ms Chanda Kochhar, Joint Managing Director, ICICI Bank Ltd.

The RBI has given a strong signal that liquidity will remain adequate in the system. The interest rates are also expected to soften with these current measures.

Another important announcement is the concept of restructuring of loans for the corporate sector.

These measures are critical for bankers to support and stand alongside our borrowers in these turbulent times. ICICI Bank continues to monitor the interest rate on a daily basis and will take necessary measures accordingly, she said.
