Kandla has redressal cell

With a view to ensuring early redressal of the problems faced by port users, particularly trade, Kandla Port Trust has set up a Customer Relations Cell. Headed by Additional Traffic Manager, the cell — also comprising Harbour Master, Deputy Financial Adviser, Chief Accounts Officer and System Analyst and Programmer of the port — will meet users every Friday and take immediate decisions for the quick resolution of problems. The move, according to Mr M.A. Bhaskar achar, the Deputy Chairman of the port, also officiating at the Chairman, is aimed at boosting imports and exports. In 2007-08, Kandla emerged as the highest cargo handling port after several years and he is keen that the position remains intact in 2008-09 also.
