Labour Dept prohibits Bosch Union strike

Our Bureau

Bangalore, Dec. 8 The Labour Department of the Rajasthan Government has prohibited the strike by Mico Bosch Labour Union and has ordered all the employees on strike to report for work immediately.

The Mico Bosch Labour Union has been on an indefinite strike at the Jaipur Plant since November 10, 2008 , which has caused a colossal revenue loss to the company and the Government, a press statement from Bosch said.

The statement said the company’s management held series of meetings with the labour union representatives in the presence of the Joint Labour Commissioner of the State.

Even after many conciliatory meetings, the union representatives showed reluctance to cooperate for an amicable solution and held on to their demands.

The employees of Bosch in all its locations are paid above average salaries compared with others in the locality. The employees at Jaipur Plant are paid wages according to a four-year wage agreement with the union, which is valid till May 31, 2009.
