Fire near RPL Jamnagar refinery

Ahmedabad, Dec. 8

Huge pall of fumes seen near the refinery of Reliance Petroleum Ltd (RPL) in Jamnagar district sparked rumours and aroused considerable curiosity among the masses in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat on Monday. A company spokesman told Business Line from Jamnagar that it was a “minor” fire that created a lot of fumes in a plastic waste dumping ground right behind the RPL premises. No damage was reported from anywhere. The spokesman said fire t enders were rushed to the spot and the blaze, which commenced around 1 p.m, was extinguished after some time. —
