Fog delays 19 flights

Hyderabad, Dec. 9

Nineteen flights were delayed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday because of unusually thick fog conditions over Hyderabad. According to Mr Viswanath Attaluri, Chief Commercial Officer, GHIAL, "Sources in the Met Department have attributed the thick fog to a rare phenomenon in Hyderabad, but due to the enhanced technical facilities available with Air Traffic Control, the airport was able to substantially minimise the delays." A release from GHIAL said that ten arriving flights were delayed and six scheduled flights were diverted. - Our Bureau
