Lifetime award for biotechnologist

Prof. G. Padmanaban, biotechnologist and former director of the Indian Institute of Science, has been named for the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award as part of the awards given to biotechnology industries and personalities by Biospectrum.

The Biotech Person of the Year award goes to Prof. Samir K. Brahmachari, Director-General of Council for Scientific & Industrial Research and Secretary, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research under the Ministry of Science & Technology. Ms Anuradha Acharya, CEO, Ocimum Biosolutions has been named the Entrepreneur of the Year.
