Co-operatives States - Andhra Pradesh AP launches project for agriculture cooperatives Our Bureau Hyderabad, Dec. 14 The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Sunday announced the launch of Sahakara Pragathi project, under which all the 2,800 primary agriculture cooperatives (PACS) would be computerised and linked to access other service providers, including financial services and insurance. CoOptions Technologies Ltd, a Hyderabad-based technology provider for rural institutions, will create the technology network for these agriculture cooperatives. According to a statement, CoOptions will play the role of a techno-business integrator and include IT enablement of the PACS and bringing business to the doorstep of the PACS using the services delivery network. This will mean creating a network for financial inclusion, linking them with banks and insurance companies and thereby creating a new economic hub in rural areas through these cooperatives.
The company will provide the software, hardware and also related services to the PACS on a revenue sharing basis in respect of income from new business opportunities made available through these PACS. More Stories on : Co-operatives | Andhra Pradesh
