BEL bags excellence award

Bangalore, Dec. 17

Bharat Electronics Ltd has received the first industry excellence award for 2008 from the Institution of Engineers (India), a company release said. It has also got the FIEO’s ‘Niryat Shree’ certificate of excellence for 2005-06 in the category of residual products – non-SSI. Mr V.V.R. Sastry, Chairman and Managing Director, received the IEI award at the inaugural session of the 23rd Indian Engineering Congress held at Warangal (AP) on December 12. T he IEI award is in recognition of BEL’s overall business practices, including financial performance, quality and environment management systems, R&D, occupational health and safety, corporate governance and corporate social responsibility. Mr N.K. Sharma, Director (Marketing), received the export award from the Union Textiles Minister, Mr Shankersinh Vaghela, at an event attended by the President, Ms Pratibha Devisingh Patil, in New Delhi on Tuesday. —
