Decorated Xmas tree at a hotel in Bangalore on Saturday. Lalit Ashok will organise a Christmas Kids Carnival on December 21, promising “unlimited fun and frolic for the entire family at the lawns by the poolside” with live counters serving pancakes, pizzas, cheese curls, fries and fitters, burgers, personalised pastries and cookies with cartoon characters and names, Christmas condiments and a chocolate fountain with tropical fruits. “Chefs would also conduct classes on fun sandwiches,” says the hotel’s press release, and there would be a magic show, jumpy, tattoo and face painting, caricature drawing, colouring and a surprise gift for all kids. The special Christmas buffet comes at Rs 2,100 plus taxes per person with unlimited wine and sparkling wine, and Rs 1,200 plus taxes per child above three years. The Leela Palace began its festivities, planned for children and adults, with a tree lighting ceremony on December 4; the hotel has a 33-ft Christmas tree in its galleria.
