Our Bureau Hyderabad, Dec. 23 Pharma major Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd has entered into agreements with UK-based Schering Corporation and Sepracor Inc to end a patent dispute on the generic version of Clarinex-D, which offers relief from nasal and non-nasal allergy symptoms. The settlement would allow the Hyderabad-based pharma major to manufacture and market generic versions of Clarinext-D (12&24 hours products) with six months marketing exclusivity and Clarinex Reditabs with six months marketing co-exclusivity starting in 2012. In addition, it would also market a generic version of Clarinex 5 milligram tablet six months after the launch of the first generic version of that product, according to a release. The agreements resolve all pending patent infringement actions filed by Schering and Sepracor against Dr. Reddy’s in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey. Clarinex, a non-sedating anti-histamine, offers relief from seasonal allergic rhinitis and perennial allergic rhinitis as well as chronic idiopathic urticaria or hives of unknown cause. The US sales for all formulations of Clarinex products were $362 million in 2007, the release added. More Stories on : IPR | Corporate Disputes | Pharmaceuticals | Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd
