Industrial chemistry course

The Mangalore University is planning to start a post-graduate programme in industrial chemistry, according to Prof K.M. Kaveriappa, Vice-Chancellor of the university. Presiding over the inauguration of the three-day international conference on frontiers in chemical research here on Monday, he said the university will soon submit a proposal to the University Grants Commission (UGC) in this regard. The postgraduate programme will be customised to the needs of the chemical in dustries, he said. Prof Kaveriappa said there is need for scientists in various sectors in the era of globalisation. He also stressed the need for proper infrastructure and environment for research in any field. —
