Industry Associations Government - E-Governance Logistics - Roadways States - Karnataka KCCI seeks online registration for vehicles Our Bureau Mangalore, Dec. 31 The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has asked the Karnataka Government to implement online system for registration of new vehicles. In a letter to the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) of Dakshina Kannada district, the copies of which were released to the press here on Wednesday, Mr Srinivasa S. Kamath, KCCI President, said that all new vehicles have to be brought to the office of RTO for registration. The KCCI has requested the Karnataka Transport Minister to exempt producing new vehicles – especially two-wheelers and cars – to the office of RTO for registration. The chamber has suggested to the Minister to implement online registration system for new vehicles by the dealers themselves. Stating that KCCI has received complaints from the public on the delay in issuing registration certificate books to new vehicle owners, he requested the RTO to issue registration certificates to all such owners on the day of registration itself.
