Two-day CET in Karnataka

Mangalore, Jan. 4

The common entrance test (CET) for professional courses will continue in Karnataka as before but with a slight modification, according to the Karnataka Higher Education Minister, Mr Aravind Limbavali. Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, he said CET will be conducted for two days, as against one day in previous cases. Counselling for allocation of seats to professional courses, based on the CET results, will be held in three centres - Gulbarga, Hubli and Bangalore - from this year as against a single centre. Asked about the progress in the establishment of an IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) in Karnataka, he said that the Union HRD Ministry has written to the State Government expressing its inability to sanction such an institute to the State. - Our Bureau
