Uniparts Vizag unit goes on stream in APSEZ

Visakhapatnam, Jan. 5 Uniparts India Ltd, which inaugurated its manufacturing unit in the Andhra Pradesh Special Economic Zone at Atchyuthapuram in Visakhapatnam district on Monday, hopes to export components and systems worth Rs 220 crore in the first year of its operations (2009-10 fiscal), according to Mr Herbert Coenen, Chief Executive Officer.

After the inauguration function, he told reporters that the company, the manufacturer of three-point linkage systems and machine components for farm and construction equipment, would export the entire production here.

“We have set up a modern plant here at a cost of Rs 78 crore and we intend to invest Rs 75 crore more during the next four years.

He said roughly 200 persons had been provided jobs till now and 500 more would be taken in the near future.
