Foreign Institutional Investors Our Bureau Mumbai, Jan. 5 FIIs have come back to the markets after Christmas and New Year breaks. On Monday, the trading volumes on the bourses surged with FIIs executing buy orders worth Rs 1,714.63 crore and sell order worth Rs 1,245.07 crore on the BSE and NSE. Moreover, FIIs had been net buyers so far in the new year and on Monday they were net buyers of equities worth Rs 469 crore, according to the provisional data provided by the exchanges. The trading volumes were sharply lower on January 1 and 2 and also in the last week of December on account of the FIIs packing off for the holidays. On January 1, FIIs’ buys were worth just Rs 260.28 crore while the sell order was worth Rs 168.24 crore. Even domestic institutional investors have been net buyers so far in the new year.
