Strides Arcolab gets new HR head

Bangalore, Jan.5

Strides Arcolab Ltd has announced the appointment of Mr N. Balachandar as Chief Human Resources Officer in a newly created post. Mr Balachandar will lead all HR functions across Strides globally and have the overall responsibility for human capital strategy, talent and leadership development, staffing and recruiting, compensation and benefits and employee relations. He reports to the Vice-Chairman and Group CEO, a Strides release said on Monday. The pharma company has 3,00 0 employees and plans to recruit 220-250 R&D staff in the near term. With over 20 years of experience, Mr Balachandar was, till recently, Executive VP, HR, of GE Money, Asia, based in Tokyo. A Masters degree holder from Loyola College and MS from IIT-Madras, he has also worked with GE Healthcare, eVentures, StanChart and Asian Paints. Coming in at a time when the company has consolidated its global strategy, “Bala brings to Strides a high level of leadership at a strategic level in the very critical HR function,” said Mr Arun Kumar, Group CEO. — Our Bureau
