New Delhi, Jan 6

Reliance Communications has informed the telecom regulator that it has completed the repair of the cut on FLAG under sea cable that occurred between Alexandria (Egypt) and Palermo (Italy).

In a letter to the TRAI, RCom said, "This was completed by December 29, 2008, a day ahead of the scheduled completion date and all customer traffic has been normalised. Sea Me We 4 and Sea Me We 3 cable systems had also reported completion of repairs on Jan 4 and 5 respectively, resulting in the redundant path on our global networks fully restored to provide the required resilience and diversity of routes to our customers." - Our Bureau
