Book on student expectations

Chennai, Jan. 6

AssessPeople will launch the result of a research conducted by it into the expectations of students from varied backgrounds when they enter the job market. The results have been brought out in the form of a book, Future Workforce Expectations, priced Rs 12,000 plus taxes. AssessPeople, provider of workforce assessment services, undertook the independent research to understand and analyse the expectations of students on their job search process and choice of a potential employer. The research covered a sample of 5,400 students from 200 educational institutions across the country. The study provides some insights, said the CEO of AssessPeople, Mr R Kannan, at a press conference here today. For example, it was found that students from North and West preferred to be tested on subject knowledge, while those from the South favoured aptitude and personality tests. Group discussion was popular among students from the East. Another example: most of the students applying for jobs looked to the Internet as the source of choice for job information. —
