‘..this will help meet the ever increasing demand for more and higher capacity machinery.’ Our Bureau Hyderabad, Jan. 6 The Indian industry needs to be equipped with robotic and intelligent manufacturing technology for full automation of the shop floor, especially in power generation in industry, said Mr Jairam Ramesh, Minister of State for Commerce and Power. Speaking at a conference on Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing Process (RIMP-2009) organised by Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, he said this will help to meet the ever increasing demand for more and higher capacity machinery. “If Indian public enterprises could hold brain drain and provide a much better environment, nothing in the world can stop India (from) become a superpower,” he said. Later during a visit to the Centre of Excellence, the Minister advised the young generation to stick with BHEL and make it a top engineering and manufacturing enterprise for power progress. At the conferenceThe two-day conference, inaugurated by Mr C.P. Singh, Director (E and R&D), BHEL, aimed at providing a platform for exchange of information on latest trends, new ideas and expertise between people working in different aspect of robotics and intelligent manufacturing.
