G.K. Nair

Kochi, Jan. 7 The India International Coffee Festival 2009 (IICF 2009), which was scheduled earlier for March this year, has now been rescheduled in the wake of the changing developments world over due to economic recession and for the convenience of the large international coffee fraternity, according to the India Coffee Board sources. It has now been scheduled during October 7-9.

With Asian economies rapidly developing, especially of India and China, the main thrust of global coffee marketing which hitherto was concentrating in and around the US, Europe and Japan will gradually shift eastwards, say the Board sources. Smart entrepreneurs are looking at India’s fast growing retail coffee market for opportunities.
