‘Satyam crisis will not hit AP projects’

Our Bureau

Kakinada, Jan. 7

The crisis engulfing the Satyam Computers will have no bearing on the two key projects (Hyderabad metro and Machilipatnam port project) awarded to a group company (Maytas Infra), according to Mr K. Rosaiah, the State Finance Minister.

Mr Rosaiah made the remark at a press meet here on Wednesday when reporters brought to his notice the Satyam crisis and its likely fallout on the two major projects. “I do not think it will have a bearing on the projects. However, if the situation warrants it, we will take necessary corrective measures,” he said.

He said the State Government was aware of the situation and the projects should go on without any hindrance. He said the State Government was contemplating presenting a vote-on-account budget this year, before the election notification is issued.
