Call to take back land allotted to Satyam for setting up SEZ

Our Bureau

Visakhapatnam, Jan. 8

The Andhra Pradesh Government should immediately annul the allotment of 50 acres of prime land at Kapulauppada village in the vicinity of the city to Satyam Computer for setting up a special economic zone, in the light of the shocking revelations by Mr Ramalinga Raju, according to the Forum for Better Visakha and Praja Spandana.

‘Norms violated’

At a joint press meet here on Thursday, the two organisations said the land had been allotted to the company, violating all norms, and in spite of persistent protests from the two organisations and several others.

“The resignation and the shocking facts revealed by Mr Raju in his letter to the board of directors vindicate our stand and the State Government should immediately cancel the land allotment. In fact, it is illegal on many counts,” said Mr E.A.S Sarma, Convener of the forum and a retired bureaucrat.
