Exports rise despite slowdown: Workers plucking tea at a plantation near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu. With global financial crisis taking its toll, tea exports slowed down during September-October last year. Still, exports during November increased 0.59 million kg (mkg) to 19.05 mkg, while overall exports during January-November were up at 175.51 mkg against 178.75 mkg last year. - K. K. Mustafah
