Bosch to temporarily shut plants

Bangalore, Jan. 9

Auto parts maker Bosch Ltd has decided to suspend some of the manufacturing operations at a few of its plants across the country for a limited period of time. In a notice to the BSE, Bosch said that to avoid piling up of unnecessary inventory, it has decided to suspend manufacture of starters and generators and related activities at its Naganathapura plant on various dates from January 10 to January 31. It has also decided to suspend some of the manufacturing operations at its Bangalore plant from January 15 to January 17. It will adopt a five-day week at the Bangalore plant from January 19 till the end of February. It will also observe block closure at its Nashik plant from January 19 to January 24.
