Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Jan. 10 Investigating teams of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) have not been able to interrogate Mr B. Ramalinga Raju, former Chairman of Satyam Computer Services and his brother, Mr Rama Raju (former MD) on Saturday.

The duo were housed at the DGP’s office for most part of the day, after their surrender last night.

Mr V.S.K. Kaumudi, IG (Economic Offences Wing) of State’s CID, said that SEBI and SFIO officials need to take court permission to question Mr Ramalinga Raju.

The CID officials grilled Mr Raju and his brother throughout the night and the best part of Saturday morning. The CID filed cases under IPC Sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 417 (punishment for cheating), 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery) and 471 (using as genuine a forged document).

The SEBI team may move court on Monday, seeking permission to interrogate Mr Ramalinga Raju, sources said.

Separately, the Registrar of Companies (RoC) officials are in the process of analysing the books of Satyam and its seven subsidiaries.
