Cambridge sets up Manmohan Singh scholarship

New Delhi, Jan. 12 University of Cambridge has announced a new scholarship programme in honour of the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, for Indian students at under-graduate level. The university intends to provide full funding to about ten Indian students every year under this scholarship.

The university has also set up £1.5 million fund to support Indian students. The scholarship is being launched with gifts from Eranda Foundation and Bharti Foundation, Prof Alison Richard, Vice0Chancellor, University of Cambridge, told presspersons.

The university is also in the process of signing up an MoU with Infosys for collaboration work in the areas of management, engineering and IT.

There are about 220 Indian students who are enrolled in various programmes in the university, of which 70 are undergraduate students.
