Bharti AXA expands capital base

Mumbai, Jan. 12

Bharti AXA General Insurance Company has infused an additional capital of Rs 60 crore, taking the total capital base of the company to Rs 190 crore. The additional capital would be deployed towards branch network expansion and IT systems. By March 2009, the company plans to expand its presence to 29 locations, from the existing 17, a release issued by the company said. The company plans to increase its capital base to Rs 645 crore in the next five years, Mr George Kurien, Chief Financial Officer, Bharti AXA General Insurance, said.
