Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Jan. 12 The ‘disgraced’ top honchos of Satyam Computer Services, Mr Ramalinga Raju, his brother, Mr B. Rama Raju, and the CFO, Mr V. Srinivas, will have to wait till January 16 for a hearing on their bail.

The bail plea, moved by their legal counsel on Monday, was posted for hearing for Friday by The Sixth Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Mr D. Ramakrishna, on Monday.

In a related issue, a petition of the market regulator, SEBI, to interrogate them will also be heard after Sankranthi.

A team of about 25 lawyers is engaged in the immediate task of securing bail for all the three accused in the Rs 7,136-crore scam and also objecting to the police custody which CB-CID sleuths have sought for further questioning, according to Mr S. Bharat Kumar, Legal Counsel for all the three accused who have been remanded to judicial custody till January 23.

While SEBI filed a petition to interrogate all the three while in judicial custody, the counsel for the accused sought time to file the counter to their petition. In the meantime, Mr Ram Mynampati, the ex-interim CEO of Satyam, has been questioned by the SEBI team on various issues relating to the case.
