Our Bureau Bangalore, Jan. 13 Infosys said it would not proactively go after customers of beleaguered Satyam Computer Services, but would take them on board if they agreed to the company’s terms and conditions. Confirming that some of Satyam’s customers had approached Infosys, the CEO, Mr S. Gopalakrishnan, said those clients would be treated as any new business and the company would take the offer if its terms and conditions were agreeable to them. “Some of the Satyam’s customers are our clients also, they have approached us,” Mr Gopalakrishnan said. Clarifying the company’s stand on not hiring Satyam employees, Mr T.V.Mohandas Pai, Head of HR at Infosys, said “it was not right for the industry to poach professionals from companies in trouble”. Further, suggesting measures to bring back the confidence in the back drop of the Satyam fiasco, Mr Pai said there should be effective enforcement of regulations in the country besides enhancing level of disclosures. Mr V. Balakrishnan, Chief Financial Officer, said regulators should take decisive, strong and quick action in regard to Satyam scam so that it acts as a deterrent. Terming the Satyam fiasco as unfortunate, Mr Gopalakrishnan said “It was not long-lasting concern for investors or companies”.
