IPR Variety - Sports Ten Sports acquires South Africa cricket rights Our Bureau Mumbai, Feb. 10 Ten Sports will exclusively broadcast 109 days of international cricket from South Africa under a new multi-year agreement between Ten Sports owners, Taj Television, and Cricket South Africa. The agreement includes India’s 3 tests, 5 ODIs and one twenty20 international in South Africa during 2010 and 2011 and represents an extension to the short-term arrangement between the parties for 2008. This new deal entails that Ten Sports will broadcast over 200 days of international cricket this year alone and now has agreements for the next four years with five of the 10 ICC full members (Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Zimbabwe and South Africa). Mr Chris McDonald, CEO of Taj TV, said “We can now guarantee Ten Sports viewers – from continental Europe through to South East Asia and including the Indian sub-continent – that they’ll be able to see a huge volume of quality international cricket over the next 4 years. This adds to our recently signed long-term contracts with WWE for wrestling every day, and UEFA for the Champions League and the best of European football.” More Stories on : IPR | Sports | Radio/TV
