Mumbai, March 4 Kalpataru Power Transmission has bagged orders worth Rs 373 crore from the Power Grid Corporation of India for supply of power transmission equipment.

Kalpataru will supply and erect transmission towers for a 413 km stretch and provide 765 KV transmission lines associated with the Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project for Silwar-Satna and Satna-Bina sections.

Work is scheduled to begin from March 2009 and be completed in 27 months.

To cater to the growing demand from the sector, Kalpataru has enhanced its installed capacity from 84,000 tpa in 2005 to 108,000 tpa in 2008.

Kalpataru is executing major orders for the Power Grid Corporation. With Power Grid’s expenditure plans of Rs 55,000 crore on T&D during the 11th Plan, the company is confident of further consolidating its position in the domestic market.

On Wednesday, Kalpataru Power stock closed flat at Rs 229 on the BSE.
