Coimbatore, March 12 The hidden entrepreneurial potential of women has been gradually changing with growing sensitivity to the role and economic status in society.

“Women entrepreneurs accept challenging roles, have a strong desire to do something positive and are capable of contributing values in both family and social life,” Ms T.K. Geetha, Director, DSI Technology India (P) Ltd, said.

Delivering the BL Club inaugural address at SNS College of Technology here, she said the challenges and opportunities provided to the women of digital era are growing so rapidly that job seekers turn job creators. Creating gainful and productive work is, therefore, the biggest challenge.

Women have done extremely well as designers, interior decorators, exporters, publishers, garment manufacturers and so on. They continue to explore newer avenues of economic participation.

It is, therefore, essential to empower women entrepreneurs for sustainable development. “Promoting entrepreneurship among women is a short-cut to rapid economic growth and development,” she said and called upon students to eliminate gender discrimination and support women in emerging stronger.
